History

The task of conducting high level scientific education and research in universities is carried out by institutes established within universities in our country as in many parts of the world. The Institute of Neurological Sciences and Psychiatry was established within Hacettepe University with the decree law dated 20.07.1982 and numbered 41 with this understanding and according to the article 3/f of the law numbered 2547, it provides postgraduate and doctorate, master's degree with and without thesis education. The Institute started active education in 1986-1987 academic year. In the Institute of Neurological Sciences and Psychiatry, doctoral and non-thesis master's degree education is given in the following fields in three departments.

Doctoral Program in Neuroelectrophysiology (since 1986-87 academic year)
Doctoral Program in Advanced Neurological Sciences (since 1986-87 academic year)
Doctoral Program in Neuroscience (since 1991-92 academic year)
Advanced Neurological and Psychiatric Basic Sciences Master's Program with Thesis (since 2019-20 academic year)
Stroke and Interventional Therapy Master's Program with Thesis (since 2018-19 academic year)

Non-thesis Master's Program in Clinical Neurological Sciences (since 2003-04 academic year)
Non-thesis Master's Program in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry (since 2010-11 academic year)
