The Institute of Neurological Sciences and Psychiatry of Hacettepe University is established to promote integrative research between basic and clinical neurosciences. Institute of Neurological Sciences and Psychiatry is composed of 3 departments organised in 16 work groups covering various fields in basic and clinical neurosciences.
The Institute aims to provide advanced educational and research facilities for training successful scientists and academicion in the fields of neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry and basic neurosciences.
The Institute promotes the idea that a successful akademic carrear in medical sciences also requires PhD training and ofters PhD education to specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry and related basic and clinical medical fields. In addition, fellowship training is offered in rapidly developing subspecialties that require multidisciplinary approaches, including cerebrovascular diseases, behavioral neurology, epilepsy, epilepsy surgery, electromyography, clinical electroencephalography, neuro-immunology, neuro-ophthalmology, pediatric neurosurgery, spinal surgery and movement disorders.
The Institute also offers Neuroscience Ph.D. training to medical students as part of the recently started combined MD-Ph.D. program. We also have short-term educational programs, which provide intensive courses on specific subjects determined by the Institutional Board.
